2000 Tour Summary
| The 2000 Lightfoot
touring year
saw him doing 49 concerts on 48 separate dates in 48 different cities
from
early March to mid-May, another leg in August through early September
and
a final early November swing through the mid-west, finishing for the
year
in Duluth, MN on November 12. Lightfoot played the Mariposa folk
festival
in his hometown Orillia in July, his first time on the Mariposa
bill
in more than 30 years.
There were no big surprises in this year's setlists. As usual a few songs were dropped such as Ode To Big Blue and That Same Old Obsession and additions included Triangle. There were 48 different songs performed during the year. Only one new song was introduced, Nighttime, which was played during the final November shows, which gives hope that more new material is in the offing for the 2001 touring year! Openers included 14 Karat Gold and Sea of Tranquility for the most part, but Don Quixote and Triangle kicked off a few concerts during the year. For the first time in several years, Old Dan's Records again closed out the majority of shows, but Cold On The Shoulder, Blackberry Wine and Early Morning Rain did that duty on a few ocassions. As has been the case in many recent years, the Shadows album had the most play in overall frequency of songs performed. Back Here On Earth; Endless Wire and Salute failed to register any songs in this year's sets. |
SONG
SUMMARY BY ALBUM
Here are
how the setlists break down by album.
| All of this information is based on a sample of 24 out of a possible 49 setlists that were available for the tour, so if anyone heard anything that isn't listed here, I'd be more than happy to add the song to the list. In brackets following the song is the number of times the song appeared in the 24 setlists to give you an idea of their frequency. |
