2007 Tour Summary
| Another solid year has
been wrapped up on the road, highlighted by sold out halls and
enthusiastic audiences throughout the duration of the tour. Lightfoot
played 54 concerts in 52 cities throughout the US and Canada over the
course of 2007, essentially the same number of dates as in 2006. He
began the
touring year in January in the US southwest. A three night stand in
Niagara Falls was it for March, before doing the US northeast in April,
Atlantic Canada in May and a long anticipated return to Texas in June.
The western US was visited in August, before closing out the year in
September with a ten concert run starting in Nashville and finishing in
Minnesota. In all
he performed 10 one-set "casino" style shows out of the 54 total
concerts. Openers were alternated exclusively between Cotton Jenny and Triangle. Three songs were rotated for the encore, including Blackberry Wine, Early Morning Rain, but most often it was the ever reliable Old Dan's Records. There were no new or previously unreleased songs performed in 2007. There were 34 different songs
performed over the course of the year, harvested from sixteen of his
twenty studio albums, leaving four studio albums
entirely shut
out, Did She Mention My Name, Back Here On
Earth and Salute and for only the
second time since it's
release in 1986, East Of
Midnight failed to have a song played in 2007 (the other year
was 1998). |
