2010 Tour Summary
| It was another busy
year on the road for Gordon Lightfoot.
In all, Lightfoot
played 81 concerts in 79 cities throughout the US and Canada in
2010, fifteen more concerts than in 2009. He
began the year in March in the US southeast, then touring Atlantic
Canada and Quebec, finishing the extensive leg with shows in
Ontario. In June he toured the US midwest through to the mid Atlantic
states. Mariposa in Orillia was his lone July date, then August saw him
in Texas, Arkanasa, Kansas, Alabama and Oklahoma. In October he toured
the US northeast and midwest, before topping off the year in November
with an extensive tour through the western states. Openers were alternated exclusively between Cotton Jenny, Did She Mention My Name and Triangle. Three songs were rotated for the encore, including Blackberry Wine, Song For A Winter's Night, and the ever reliable Old Dan's Records, with Early Morning Rain doing the honors on a few occasions. Some older songs back in rotation were Did She Mention My Name this time not as part of a medley, but in complete form on its own. Home From The Forest and Sweet Guinevere were two surprise and welcome additions to the 2010 setlist rotation. East Of Midnight and I'll Tag Along were played one time each. There were no new or previously
unreleased songs performed in 2010. The album Shadows was once again the
most drawn upon source for material, both in terms of different songs
utilized and
total unique plays. There were 44 different songs
performed over the course of the year, harvested from eighteen of his
twenty studio albums, leaving only two studio albums
entirely shut
out, that being Back Here On Earth and Salute. |
